A modern dairy farm with an on-site dairy processing facility is offered for sale in Northern Romania. The business is focused on producing, processing, and marketing its own dairy products, creating significant opportunities for further value addition and growth.
The farm currently milks 99 dairy cows using two automatic milking robots, producing approximately 3 tonnes of milk per day.
At present, around 10% of the milk is sold directly to consumers through a network of nine milk vending machines. The company’s strategy is to increase this share to 20%, while processing the remaining milk into value-added dairy products for the food service (HORECA) and retail markets.
The processing facility already includes a small-scale cheese and yogurt production line.
The farm is located in a region where there are still relatively few large dairy farms and where rainfall is generally sufficient, providing favourable conditions for forage production. The dairy barns and related facilities are virtually new, with most of the investments financed through the AFIR (Romanian Agency for Financing Rural Investments) subsidy programme.
Several expansion projects have already been identified, including:
- Installation of 10 additional milk vending machines;
- Investment in filling and packaging equipment for sour cream and yogurt;
- Expansion of the dairy herd.
These growth plans have not yet been implemented due to a lack of financial resources.
The current owner is willing to gradually transfer the business to the new owner to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations.
The transaction concerns the sale of the Romanian limited liability company (SRL). The company currently has a substantial amount of both short-term and long-term debt, which should be taken into account during the acquisition process.
The asking price is negotiable. The company is currently facing financial challenges, creating an attractive opportunity for an investor or strategic buyer with the capital and expertise to realise the farm’s significant growth potential.
